Allen County Outstanding Warrants List

Allen County maintains one of the more transparent warrant systems in Indiana. The Allen County Sheriff's Office publishes an active warrants list on its website. As of late 2025, more than 7,041 warrants were listed as active in Allen County. That number shows how actively the sheriff's office updates and publishes this data.

The Allen County Warrants and Fugitive Division is responsible for maintaining all of the following records: Adult Criminal Bench Warrants, Adult Probation Warrants, Parole Warrants, Family Court Warrants, and Small Claims Body Attachments. All extraditions in the county are also handled through this division. When a warrant is entered into the system, residents are notified that the warrant "has been entered into a statewide computer system," meaning it is visible to law enforcement across Indiana. This statewide entry is what makes an Allen County warrant enforceable anywhere in the state.

The sheriff can be reached at (260) 449-7636 for the Warrants and Fugitive Division. If you have a tip about a wanted person, the tip hotline is (260) 449-3343. Crime Stoppers of Greater Fort Wayne is also available at (260) 436-7867 for anonymous tips about fugitives and wanted individuals in Allen County.

City of Fort Wayne homepage - Fort Wayne warrant records

The city homepage connects residents to law enforcement resources including the Allen County outstanding warrants list.

The city's Resources page on the Fort Wayne city website links directly to the Allen County outstanding warrants list, the Fort Wayne Police Department daily activity log, and the Allen County Sheriff's Department daily activity log. These logs go back years. FWPD logs start from June 1, 2006. The sheriff's log starts from October 18, 2007. That is a significant public record archive. You can look through past incidents by date and search for warrant-related activities across those years.

A note from the city about those logs: records are based on initial call information. Officers may find upon arrival that a different offense occurred, or no offense at all. Keep that in mind when reading the data. Initial entries do not always reflect final outcomes.

The Fort Wayne Resources page includes direct links to public safety tools, warrant databases, and daily activity logs for both FWPD and the Allen County Sheriff.

Using MyCase to Search Fort Wayne Court Records

Indiana's MyCase portal is free to use and open to the public. You can search Allen County cases by name or cause number. Results show case type, charges, court dates, and status. Most active criminal matters in Allen County courts appear in MyCase, including cases where a bench warrant has been issued for failure to appear.

MyCase does not show every warrant in real time, and not every warrant triggers a court case entry visible to the public. For the most current data, check both MyCase and the Allen County Sheriff's warrant page together. Each source has different information. Using both gives you the most complete picture of active warrant status in Fort Wayne and Allen County.

Types of Warrants in Allen County

Allen County courts issue several types of warrants. Arrest warrants come from criminal filings where a judge finds probable cause. Under IC 35-33-2-1, a warrant must be based on probable cause and supported by affidavit before a judge signs it. Bench warrants are issued when a defendant misses a scheduled court date. They carry the same legal force as arrest warrants and stay active until the person appears or the court recalls the warrant.

  • Arrest warrants: result from criminal charges with a probable cause finding
  • Bench warrants: issued for failure to appear in court
  • Search warrants: authorize law enforcement to search property
  • Tax warrants: filed by the Indiana Department of Revenue
  • Child support writs: related to family court orders
  • Adult probation warrants: issued for violations of probation terms
  • Parole warrants: issued for violations of parole conditions

Tax warrants are separate from criminal warrants. The Indiana Department of Revenue files these when back taxes are owed. You can search them through the Indiana Tax Warrant Search portal. The DOR page on sheriff warrants explains what happens after a tax warrant reaches the sheriff's stage.

Allen County Sheriff's Office Warrant Service

The Allen County Sheriff handles warrant service across all of Allen County, which includes Fort Wayne and the surrounding unincorporated areas. The sheriff's office is at 715 S. Calhoun Street Room 101, Fort Wayne IN 46802. Under IC 35-33-2-2, the signed warrant must name the defendant and the offense. It commands law enforcement to arrest that person and bring them before the issuing court.

When a warrant is executed, IC 35-33-2-4 sets the rules for how an officer must proceed. The full statute is at findlaw.com. Officers must inform the person of the warrant and, if asked, show it when available. After arrest, the person goes before the court that issued the warrant. Bail may be set depending on the charge and the person's prior record. Under IC 35-33-2-4, felony warrants never expire, while misdemeanor warrants may be subject to a 180-day limit in certain circumstances.

Criminal History and State Records

The report covers statewide charges and convictions, including those from Allen County courts. It goes further back than MyCase and shows a broader picture across time and jurisdiction.

Under IC 10-13-3-11, the state defines what a limited criminal history may contain and who may access it. Most criminal records in Indiana are public under IC 5-14-3 unless a court has ordered them sealed or expunged.

The Indiana courts' public records portal links to data systems, court contacts, and guidance for accessing records statewide. The Indiana Protection Order Registry is a free public search for civil protective orders across Indiana. These are separate from criminal warrants but are enforceable by law enforcement.
